Gualala Arts Center

Gualala Arts Center is a 15,000-square-foot visual and performing arts venue on eleven acres of redwood forest that sits one-quarter mile from the Pacific Ocean on the Mendocino Coast. This jewel of the Redwood Coast is tucked into the redwood forest next to the Gualala River and includes a Haiku Garden path, a Redwood Grove Events Area adorned with hand-built stone walls, multiple walkways, large bronze sculptures, large boulders, unique garden art, outdoor areas that invite you to pause and reflect, and a Meditation Grove of old-growth redwoods that stand tall among opulent ferns and lush greenery. Patios and outdoor event areas are home to many annual and perennial plants and flowers native to the Mendocino-Sonoma coastal area. Sculptures and outdoor artwork complement the forested grounds and gardens at every turn. Indoor galleries change monthly, and Gualala Arts hosts many festivals and events throughout the year. Gualala Arts is thrilled to team up with the Stone Foundation and the Mendocino Stone Zone for Garden Conservancy Open Day garden tours. Many of the stone masons have created one-of-a-kind sculptures that remain on the grounds of Gualala Arts for all to admire. The newly remodeled Redwood Grove is a legacy build by the Stone Foundation and is a great place to stop for a picnic lunch among the towering redwoods, surrounded by the ancient art of stone masonry. Gualala Arts is dedicating a new revolving outdoor sculpture garden in April 2022. Selected artists will display and sell their art for the year with a new map and catalogue each April. Hours: The garden looks best March through November, although redwood forest and paths are lovely year-round.
