Garden owner’s description: Welcome to our garden on the historic Gold Coast. This summer home was constructed in 1892 for Dr. George H. Fox, known as the "father of dermatology." Over the years, we have improved and refined our property and landscape, balancing our passion for gardening with family living. When we purchased the property in 1982, there were numerous specimen trees, but, because of age and Hurricane Sandy, few remain. In 2004 the swing set was replaced with formal gardens and new landscape features.

Stroll through our sunken, stone-walled vegetable garden with its symmetrical raised planting boxes. The original greenhouse was replaced with a rose garden framed with boxwood hedges. The 1892 potting shed still remains. We created a perennial border garden to enjoy while relaxing in the pergola. Our recent addition is a stone koi pond with Asian-influenced plantings and statuaries.
