Come take a quiet stroll through the woods, relax for a spell on a shady bench and listen to the birds, while taking in the beautiful woodland gardens of Shades of Green. Discover hidden treasures among the hundreds of different varieties of shade-loving perennials including Hosta, ferns, Heuchera, Polygonatum, and Primula in this peaceful country setting. Picnic tables are available, so bring your lunch. Purchase one of the many perennials available, or just come for inspiration.

Directions: Shades of Green is located approximately 13 miles east of Amsterdam, New York. From Highway 67 to Cook Road, then 5.1 miles. From west of Ballston Spa, New York, take Highway 67 for 9 miles to Cook Road, then 5.1 miles. Parking is available in driveway or along Cook Road.

Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Admission to this garden is $7 for members and nonmembers without tickets purchased in advance.

Buy discounted admission tickets in advance! They can be used at most Open Days to make garden visiting easier.
Nonmembers get 6 visits for the price of 5 with advanced ticket book purchase.

Join passionate shade garden expert, Wynne Trowbridge, to explore her garden and the extensive plant collection that inspired her to start a small nursery specializing in shade plants.
