Woodland/shade garden, Substantial native plants, Rare plants/plant collection, Garden structure/sculpture, Water feature
Over thirty years, the owners have transformed one-and-one-half acres into a series of outdoor rooms. In 2017 it was awarded Best Landscape by Westchester Home magazine.
Winding stone paths traverse the property’s rolling hills, leading past an ancient silver maple to a Japanese-themed koi pond surrounded by irises, hostas, and ferns. Majestic hemlocks and boxwood lined paths coax visitors into a formal hydrangea garden featuring a diagonal checkerboard stone terrace. A fire pit and trickling fountain create the ultimate backyard sanctuary. Nearby, flowering rose bushes and mammoth sunflowers surround a vegetable garden. Beyond is an evergreen garden, anchored by colorful pine trees, where cotoneaster cascades over the hills like water.
Open Days 2021: At the request of the garden owner, this Open Day, which was scheduled for Saturday, August 14, has been canceled.
