John Danzer is the founder of Munder-Skiles, widely acknowledged as one of the finest designers and manufacturers of garden furniture in the world today. He also practices as the first exterior decorator, encouraging clients to keep outdoor furniture in context with the surroundings. Albert Hadley, the seminal American interior design, said, "John Danzer has done more to integrate exterior and interior design than anyone working today. His obsessive fascination with the subject makes him the 'change agent' we all need." John’s work was recognized with the first-ever major exhibition of garden furniture when the New York School of Interior Design staged a Munder-Skiles show in 2000 called Reinventing the Garden Seat.

A knowledgeable historian, pioneering "exterior decorator," and consummate storyteller, John will lead guests through the Munder-Skiles showroom in Garrison, New York, as well as his private design studio at his nearby home, which includes his collection of exceptional antique and contemporary garden furniture, and an extensive library of designer archives, books, and new and antique catalogs.

While guests experience his work and various inspirations, John will discuss his concept of exterior decorating—making sympathetically designed outdoor spaces inviting, comfortable, and functional—as well as the evolution of garden furniture and our use of outdoor space. Refreshments will be served.
