The Garden Conservancy is pleased to partner with Southern Highlands Reserve─a preeminent native plant arboretum and research center founded by Robert Balentine in 2002 in the mountains of western North Carolina─to present this very special Garden Masters Series event. Join us for a half day to experience the botanical richness of one of the world's great biodiversity hotspots through the lens of the special gardens of the Southern Highlands Reserve and two adjacent private gardens that take their horticultural inspiration from the fascinating natural history of a region long celebrated by scientists as among the most important and unique on the planet.

We will be joined by a very special guest─author Page Dickey─who will share readings from her new book, Uprooted: A Gardener Reflects on Beginning Again. The book chronicles Page's transformation from a gardener focused on control and formality into one increasingly and consistently inspired by the beauty of the natural world, a concept perfectly mirrored by the gardens you'll see during this program.
