Garden Masters: Salesforce Transit Center Park—A Modern Urban Rooftop Landscape - SOLD OUT
Salesforce Transit Center Park
Wed, Oct 6, 2021
10:30 AM-12:00 PM
The Salesforce Transit Center—recently completed and opened to the public—is a modern transit station capped with an iconic 5.4-acre rooftop park designed as a public destination and community asset in downtown San Francisco. The park serves as an essential element of the new East Cut neighborhood, providing a horticulturally rich open space in an area whose population is growing rapidly. The design incorporates expansive soil volumes to support large, healthy trees and the gardens highlight plant communities that thrive in San Francisco’s Mediterranean climate. Public art, including a dynamic “Bus Fountain” that expresses the movement of the buses below, punctuates the connections between the gardens and the facility as a whole.
Join us for a tour of this cutting-edge property, guided by principal architect Adam Greenspan of PWP Landscape Architecture, the Berkeley, CA, firm that designed the park. Lunch will be included, details to follow.
