Summer 2020 Webinar on Membership Program Techniques and Models
On September 15, 2020, we held a webinar, titled "New Membership Strategies to Engage New Audiences," for members of the Garden Conservancy Northwest Network (GCNN). In response to members expressing interest in improving their membership programs, we invited individuals from two gardens with robust membership programs to present an overview of their successful techniques. Thirty GCNN members attended the webinar.
"Learning about the creative ways in which other public gardens engage in member development was inspirational and thought provoking," said webinar participant Colleen Adams-Schuppe, executive director of the Yakima Area Arboretum.
Tracy Fletcher, chief operating officer at the Ruth Bancroft Garden in Walnut Creek, CA, and Caroline Ralston, director of marketing, communications & membership at the Mt. Cuba Center in Hockessin, DE, presented their organizations’ membership models and focused on how to maximize membership revenue through sales techniques and appropriate pricing.
The spring 2020 GCNN workshop, "Master Planning for Public Gardens," which was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, was rescheduled for November 5, 2020, as a Zoom webinar.
