The Sievert Garden
Waukesha, WI
Water feature, Dry/xeriscape, Rare plants/plant collection, Woodland/shade garden
The one-acre property is surrounded by shade gardens with perennials selected for their foliage, including 700 hostas. Many moss gardens appear, including containers and mossy rocks. There are three water systems in the water garden. There is a Japanese-style garden, a cactus and succulent garden, a sunken garden, a hillside garden, and a Williamsburg-inspired formal garden. Five thousand antique bricks and 2,000 antique cobblestones were used for walks and planters. Begonias and impatiens appear in a single-color-plus-white pattern. All trees are deciduous, to blend with nearby wooded areas. sievertgardens.blogspot.com
