This Japanese garden is intended to evoke a sense of serenity, as different rooms invite the visitor to pause and reflect. Stones and ledges throughout reside harmoniously with specimen trees and plantings that marry color, texture, and shape. The water features induce a visual and auditory tranquility, encouraging meditation. From the teahouse, one has a commanding view of much of the garden with its borrowed Litchfield Hills landscape. Proceed through a stone garden to a series of geometrically patterned orchards and connecting footpaths. Garden is partially accessible.
