The Selig Garden
Bayside, WI
Water feature, Garden structure/sculpture
The six-acre Selig Garden, which borders Lake Michigan, will be a treat for gardeners and art aficionados alike. The garden evolved over multiple years as the hosts acquired first the property to the north of their home, and then the property to the south. The goal was to create an outdoor oasis suitable for entertaining, which was enhanced with plantings sympathetic to their collection of modern sculpture.
Highlights include a formal cutting garden, a rose garden, and a zen seating area bordering on a dramatic ravine that empties into Lake Michigan. A favorite part of the garden is a water feature with a whimsical frog sculpture. Docents from the Milwaukee Art Museum will be on site to provide information and answer questions about the sculptures.
